Speaking about My First Album, Jessica Winter said:
“Looking back to my childhood and what an album meant, it was something solid and permanent, completed and curated. You could hold it in your hands, put it on the record player and listen to it in its entirety. In this era of disposable moments and ever rolling, broken news, I wanted to inject something whole into the ether, a permanent moment in the long stream of my music career in all that it’s been.
I am Jessica Winter, this is my first album, and I dedicate it purely to LOVE.”
Jessica will play multiple in-store live dates to celebrate the release of My First Album, playing Rough Trade East tonight followed by shows in cities including Brighton, Bristol, Leeds, Liverpool and her hometown, Portsmouth. All dates and details can be found below, and tickets can be purchased HERE.
My First Album is Jessica’s long-awaited debut album following multiple years of critical acclaim. To date, Jessica has been featured and supported by the likes of The New York Times, GQ, Dazed, Rolling Stone US, Rolling Stone UK, The Guardian, The Times, BRICKS, 10 Magazine, CLASH, Dork, DIY, The Forty-Five, NME, The Line Of Best Fit, Gay Times, and Loud And Quiet. She has also been well supported across BBC Radio 1 and 6Music.
Jessica Winter is a British singer, songwriter, and producer known for her experimental pop music that blends elements from various genres, including pop, industrial, and indie. Often compared to the likes of Kylie, Robyn, and Grimes, to date, Jessica has released a series of EPs, including Limerence (2023), More Sad Music (2021), and Sad Music (2020), each showcasing her ability to infuse unconventional themes and introspective lyrics into pop song structures.
In addition to her solo projects, Winter has an extensive list of credits as a co-writer and producer, having collaborated with artists like The Horrors, The Big Moon, Jazmin Bean, Phoebe Green, Lauren Auder, Pre Goblin, Sundara Karma, Walt Disco, and Brodka.
